Wurde damals als 50 Episoden Serie veröffentlich und in Deutschland als filmischer Zweiteiler herausgebracht.
Aufgearbeitet wird dabei das Leben von Bruce Lee quasi von der Kindheit auf bis hin zu seinem Tod. Besonders werden dabei seine kämpferischen Fähigkeiten und der Übergang nach Amerika eingefangen.
Glänzt dabei schon fast durch seinen Cast denn vor allem Hauptdarsteller Danny Kwok-Kwan Chan geht voll auf in der Rolle auf. Interessanter ist aber, dass man lauter Kandidaten ran holt aller Michael Jai White, Mark Dacascos, Gary Daniels und Ray Park die natürlich alle Größen sind im Martial Arts Genre sind.

This 3 hour condensation of a 50 episode Chinese TV series is an astonishingly strange watch. It's almost like a homage to Bruceploitation as much as it is Bruce Lee as Danny Chan plays the Dragon in a retelling of his life that mixes fact with outrageous misguided fiction. The framing device for the first half of the film is that Bruce Lee gets his spine injured by a fight cheat called Yellow-Skin (Li Yuan). Bruce is paralysed and wheelchair bound and relives some of the highlights of his fight career up to that point. Wat als we het leven van Bruce Lee verfilmen als 2 90 minuten durende soap afleveringen met lange (LANGE) vecht scenes. Ja, dan wordt het KAK. Chinees TV ding wat redelijk onbekijkbaar is. De acteur die Bruce Lee speelt kan wel zeer goed vechten. Helaas zit hij in de verkeerde film. Het ziet er VERSCHRIKKELIJK uit. En de mensen op het scherm zijn nauwelijks acteurs te noemen. Sick as hell on the couch, and this popped up on the tv. Sure, I got time for a 3+ hr Bruce Lee biopic. Gotta say...as I've read several books on the man, this was imo the most accurate depiction I've seen so far.
